Turn your dress into a high-low skirt | DIY

This DIY tutorial is about making a skirt. I love skirt DIY’s because often, they’re very simple compared to shorts or shirts for example. It’s basically just one piece of fabric, sewn together, with an elastic band. But sometimes there is a little bit more to it. This tutorial is a bit more complicated, but very easy if you know how a sewing machine works.

All you need is a dress you don’t like anymore but is still too good to throw away. Or you can buy one at a vintage or second hand shop. One that is a bit too big might work best. And other than that you only need a sewing machine, scissors, chalk and some basic sewing supplies.

What it comes down to, is that you cut off the top of the skirt and put some elastic band in the waist. Then, you have a nice skirt. But you could turn it into a nice high-low skirt with some extra steps. Look at the pictures below and see the full tutorial at heycoobabe.com.
